During a visit to Havana in May, CSC Director Rob Miller met Betsy Díaz Velázquez, Minister of Domestic Trade, to discuss the impact of the Cuba Vive Food Aid Appeal.
The minister described the severe challenges facing Cubaʼs food supply as the intensified US blockade and fuel shortages continue to disrupt production and distribution across the island. She said the food delivered through Cuba Vive is providing vital support at a time of acute need.
Expressing the gratitude of the Cuban people, Díaz Velázquez thanked CSC and its supporters for their ongoing solidarity, explaining that the donated food is being distributed to vulnerable communities throughout the country.
The meeting highlighted the growing importance of the appeal, which continues to provide practical humanitarian assistance while strengthening international solidarity with Cuba during one of the most challenging periods in its recent history.
