The Cuba Vive Appeal is on course to raise more than half a million pounds by the end of 2026, providing a vital lifeline to the Cuban people at a moment of deepening humanitarian crisis.
Thanks to the extraordinary solidarity shown by trade unionists, campaigners and supporters across Britain and internationally, the appeal has already raised more than £490,000 to deliver life-saving medical supplies, emergency food aid and hurricane relief.
Between February 2025 and July 2026, fourteen major consignments of aid have been sent to Cuba.
Together with donated medical equipment and supplies, this represents more than £1.5 million-worth of humanitarian aid reaching hospitals, clinics and communities across the country.
What began following a North West UNISON delegation to Matanzas in 2023 has grown into the largest practical solidarity initiative ever organised by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign in Britain. The appeal is now backed by twelve major trade unions and has received more than 1,800 individual and branch donations from around the world.
